Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Abhijeet Rohil (“we”) collects when you use Backsolved at backsolved.com, why, where it is kept, and how to get rid of it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived.
1. What we collect

| Product usage events | Which pages and steps were used, so we can see where the product confuses people. Stored in our own database. |
| Technical logs | Errors and request metadata, kept briefly, so failures can be diagnosed. |
We do not collect your name, address, phone number, date of birth, government identifiers, employer, or CV. We do not ask which firms you are interviewing with.
2. What we do not do
- We do not sell your data. Not to anyone, in any form.
- We do not use your transcripts to train AI models — ours or anyone else’s.
- We do not run advertising trackers. There is no advertising pixel, no third-party analytics script and no cross-site tracking on this site. Usage measurement is first-party and stays in our own database.
- We do not share your transcripts with employers, schools or recruiters.
3. Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in and to hold your place in a case. There are no advertising or profiling cookies, which is why this site does not show you a consent banner.
4. Who processes data for us
We use a small set of service providers, each for one purpose:
- Hosting and database — to run the application and store your account, transcripts and reports.
- Authentication — to manage sign-in and password recovery securely.
- AI model provider — the text of your case conversation is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate the interviewer’s replies and the written commentary. It is sent for that purpose only.
- Payment gateway — to take payment. They collect your payment details directly; we receive only a confirmation and a reference.
- Email provider — to send account and purchase emails.
Some of these providers operate outside India, so your data may be processed abroad. We use providers that contractually commit to appropriate safeguards.
5. How long we keep it
- Account, transcripts and reports: until you delete them or your account.
- Payment and tax records: as long as tax and accounting law requires, even after account deletion. These are financial records, not transcripts.
- Technical error logs: normally 30 days.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, export it, or delete it. Account deletion is available in your account settings and removes your transcripts and reports permanently. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]; we respond within 2 working days and complete requests within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you may complain to the relevant data protection authority in your country.
7. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to the production database is restricted to the operator of the business. Secrets are held in the hosting provider’s encrypted configuration and never sent to your browser. We are a small operation and we do not claim a formal security certification; we do claim that we have not taken shortcuts on the parts that would hurt you.
8. Children
Backsolved is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will email registered users and update the date above.
